Giancarlo Niero, born on 30/05/1959 in Passarella di San Donà di Piave, has experienced a journey rich in emotions and personal growth in the world of catering.
Youth and First Challenges
After experiences at Bar Centrale in Passarella and the challenge as a waiter in Fiera di Primiero at just 16 years old, his life took a significant turn. The courage to face the distance from home at only 18, to undertake new challenges in Genoa, further characterized his path.
Determination and Professional Evolution
Excused from military service, Giancarlo seized the opportunity to use his time with determination, continuing to evolve in the restaurant industry. Numerous experiences at renowned restaurants, prestigious collaborations, and his dedication to the world of catering have contributed to shaping his path.
From Maître to Successful Chef
From learning flambé cooking techniques to pivotal collaborations at 'Da Guido' and 'Villa Giustinian,' to his role as maître at Gambrinus, Giancarlo has accumulated invaluable knowledge. His passion for cooking led him to become a chef, stepping in for struggling cooks and culminating in an unforgettable eight-year experience at Villa O'Hara as an event organizer before opening his first establishment, enriching his professional career.
L'Alternativa: The Dream Realized
After opening 'L'Alternativa' in Jesolo, where he stayed for seven years, Giancarlo decided to move to San Donà di Piave with his partner Marzia. Here, he brought to life a cozy and eponymous venue with 30 seats, where he fulfilled his dream of offering quality dishes, prepared with prime ingredients and a touch of creativity.
